January 2008 and we are still working hard on La Petite Maison the riverside cottage in Treves which will be available for self catering rental from the end of April 2008. As you can see work is well underway.... ooops wrong picture!
La Petite Maison is situated in the charming village of Treves only 10 minutes along the river west of Saumur. The route from Saumur to Treves takes you past all the Sparkling Wine Houses so there it plenty of opportunity to stop and try a few wines. Why not buy a bottle to have on the verandha in the evening. You also pass the mushroom caves and there are some of the most spectacular views of the Loire River from here before arriving in the village Treves.
Taking a break from painting, tiling, sanding & grouting we even had the chance to to cycle 30 minutes along the river to Le Thoureil. Here we stopped and had a picnic under beautiful blue skies. There are two bikes available at the house for you to borrow if you want to cycle part of the Loire au Velo route.
