It has been a busy month so far. Spring has arrived along with the guests and there has been tons to do in the potager and gardens. The Bergerie here is now home to a new Wine Art Gallery and for the moment we are displaying our collection of Mouton Rothschild lables.
It is a fascinating collection and currently starts in 1924 through to the present day. At the moment I am working on finding some of the earlier lables and also waiting for the arrival of the 2004 Prince Charles lable which will hopefully be still attached to a full bottle of wine when it arrives!
We have created a few more 'objets du vin' to keep you amused this year. Here is The Memorable Wine Bottle Rack. The idea is you get to sign the lable of a memorable bottle of wine you have consumed during the Wine Sampling Supper. We then add it to the rack. Simple! That way when you return you can always remember which wine you drank. Looking at the way it is growing though I think we are going to have to get another bottle hedgehog before too long!
Did we tell you about our little gift shop. The Comptoir is now open for the purchase of last minute gifts. We have a range of locally produced oils, soaps, wine chocolates and biscuits. We also have a selection of Caudelie products made from grapes. These packs include hand cream, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion....all made from the vine!
