Domaine de Mihoudy - a rare shot of Jean-Charles at the festival of Aubigne Sur Layon. Mihoudy is one of our favourite Anjou domaines with a fabulous range of wines that culminate in some triumphant Bonnezaux noble late harvest wines.
Chateau de Fesles- Lisa explains the workings of the computer controlled temperature panel for each of the wines tanks. This chateau is unique in that the reds are produced in stainless steel whilst the whites are oaked. Amazing Bonnezeaux minerally intensity with piercing botrytis character.
Vincent Ogereau - produces good Anjou Villages reds and rich well crafted Coteaux du Layon. Also have some Savennieres that they grow with two other produces which are dry white and minerally. Also grows Cabernet Sauvignon which gives a powerful and brambly finish to the Cote de la Houssaye.
Domaine de Juchepie - Eddie Oosterlink explains to a group of our American friends how he farms his organic vineyard. Makes increasingly good dry and late harvested wines from 6 hectares with vines ranging from 40 to 100 years old.
Domaine Jo Pithon - The Trellises organically replanted by Jo using an old traditional method of slate posts at the end of the rows. Today slate posts are no longer used because they get broken using machine harvesters. Well there's now way a harvester will get up these slopes so it will all be picked by hand.
